Pranarôm Pranabb Body repellent roller against mosquitoes and ticks is a 30 ml (1.01 fl oz) roll-on repellent milk with 100% organic essential oils and Citriodiol, the natural active drawn from lemon eucalyptus. The milky texture goes on through a rolling ball rather than a spray, so nothing drifts into a child's face. It carries organic certification (Certisys) and ECOGARANTIE certification, and it is cleared for use from 6 months - younger than most repellents sold in US pharmacies, which usually start at 2 or 3 years.

Citriodiol, from lemon eucalyptus

The active substance is Eucalyptus citriodora oil, hydrated, cyclized - Citriodiol - at 30% m/m, a plant-derived repellent rather than a synthetic one. It sits in an aromatic blend of lavender, lemon eucalyptus and lemongrass essential oils from Madagascar, all from organic farming. Pranarôm states the milk repels European and tropical mosquitoes, naming Aedes aegypti, Culex pipiens and Anopheles gambiae, as well as ticks. It is registered as a biocidal product (TP19), so use it as directed and read the label.

A milk, not just a repellent

Where most repellents dry the skin out, this one is formulated as a body milk: the manufacturer reports it moisturises the skin for 4 hours after application. The pleasant scent comes from the essential oils themselves and not from added fragrance, which matters when the product sits on a toddler's arms all evening. The roller head gives you control over how much goes on and where, and the 30 ml size clears hand-luggage limits.

How to use
