Puressentiel Diffuseur Humidificateur Ultrasonique ORSO is a single diffuser unit that uses an ultrasonic system to release a light water mist, with or without essential oils added. The cold ionisation system means the oils are never heated, so their properties are preserved. It is designed and compact, built from recycled materials, and it runs quietly for up to 5 hours. It powers from any USB port, so it travels between rooms easily.

Three ways to use one unit

As an essential oil diffuser, you pour a few drops into the water tank for aromatic diffusion. As a humidifier, used with water and/or hydrosols and no oil at all, it simply raises the humidity of the room, which Puressentiel suggests for respiratory comfort. And the mist can be paired with a soft ambient light, in changing or fixed colours, depending on what you prefer.

Quiet, recycled, and USB-powered

The ORSO is quiet and straightforward to operate, which is what makes it workable for daily use rather than occasional. It is universal in the sense that it plugs into a USB port rather than needing a proprietary base, though it does want a 5V 1A adapter at minimum. Diffusion is for ambience in a room — first cold snaps, indoor air, winding down in the evening, summer nights.

Worth knowing before you buy: the 5V 1A USB adapter is not included, only the cable. The tank holds just 80 ml and Puressentiel requires you to clean it every three days and never leave water standing in it — microorganisms can otherwise grow in the tank and be pushed into the air. It is for ambient diffusion only, not for inhaling, and not to be used around young children or pregnant or breastfeeding people.

How to use

Before any use or handling, check that the ORSO diffuser is switched off and unplugged. Then: place the diffuser on a flat, stable surface, away from the edge, and not on or near furniture or any surface sensitive to moisture. Remove the outer cover of the diffuser, then the inner cover. Fill the tank with cold water and/or hydrosol without going past the maximum water level mark (80 ml). Then add a few drops of essential oil or Puressentiel diffusion blend, 1 to 2 drops per 10 ml. Gently replace the inner cover, then the outer cover, on the base of the diffuser. Insert the power cable plug into the USB-C port at the back of the diffuser, then connect the USB end of the cable to your adapter.
