Avène Cleanance Comedomed Peeling is an intensive peel-effect cream for acne-prone skin during breakouts, made to reduce the size and number of spots and fade the marks they leave behind. It combines three actives: 6% glycolic acid, which exfoliates and renews the skin surface, Comedoclastin (a milk thistle extract, 7%), which helps regulate sebum and unclog pores, and 0.1% retinaldehyde, a retinoid that smooths skin texture and helps fade red and brown marks. Avène Thermal Spring Water, the first ingredient, soothes. It is used as a short course, in the evening, for up to 15 days in a row.

The texture

A light, pink-tinted cream that spreads easily and absorbs without a greasy film. A mild tingling on application is normal with glycolic acid and retinaldehyde, and it fades in a few minutes.

Worth knowing before you buy: glycolic acid and retinaldehyde make the skin more sun-sensitive and can cause dryness or redness, especially on sensitive skin. Wear a high SPF every day, don't combine it with other exfoliating or retinoid products, and avoid it during pregnancy. It contains alcohol.

How long one tube lasts

How to use
