Mavala Scientifique Nail Hardener is a nail hardening treatment for soft, brittle and splitting nails that break before they can grow. The current Scientifique K+ formula is invisible and water-based, and works only on the free edge of the nail, the most fragile part. Its key actives are dimethylurea, which helps harden the nail keratin, and mastic resin tears from the Greek island of Chios. Mavala states that the formula is 90% of natural origin, vegan and free from formaldehyde. Used two to three times a week, it helps nails grow longer without splitting at the tip.

How it works

A clear, fluid liquid brushed only onto the tip of the nail, from the middle to the free edge. It dries in about a minute to an invisible finish and can be worn alone or under nail polish.

How to use

Clean the nails so they are free of oil and polish. Brush the product only on the tip of the nail, from the centre to the free edge, avoiding the cuticles and skin. Let it dry for one minute with the hands held downwards. Apply 2 to 3 times a week until the nails are hard enough, then space out applications. It can be used under nail polish.
