A simple hyaluronic acid cream for dehydrated skin and small wounds on the mend

Ialuset Hyaluronic Acid Cream is a repairing cream with 0.2% sodium hyaluronate for dry, dehydrated or fragile skin and for minor, non-infected skin wounds. Made by IBSA and sold in French pharmacies as a medical device, it relies on hyaluronic acid, a molecule naturally present in the skin that holds water and keeps the skin surface moist, the environment skin needs to recover. Glycerin and sorbitol add hydration, while decyl oleate softens the skin without a heavy film. Many people also use it as a plain, fragrance-free moisturiser for dehydrated skin.

The texture

A soft white cream, lighter than it looks, that spreads easily and absorbs without a heavy film. On the face it leaves skin supple and comfortable. For small areas that need care, it can be applied in a thicker layer and covered with a gauze, as the manufacturer recommends.

Who it suits

Worth knowing before you buy: the formula contains parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate, which a few very sensitive skins dislike. Stop if you notice redness, itching or eczema. It is meant for minor, non-infected wounds, not deep or infected ones. The "anti-wrinkle" in the name refers to lines from dryness looking plumper, not to a treatment for wrinkles.

How long one tube lasts

The 100g tube is large for a face cream. Used morning and evening on the face, it lasts about two to three months.

How to use

As a moisturiser, apply a small amount to clean skin, morning and/or evening, and massage in gently. On a minor wound, clean and disinfect the area first, then apply a 2 to 3mm layer once a day directly on the skin or on a sterile gauze, and cover. Do not let the tip of the tube touch the wound. For external use only.
