Phyto Paris Phytocolor Permanent Colour With Plant Pigments is the colour Phyto's lab built to make performance and scalp comfort stop competing. The pigment base holds up to 74% plant pigments, drawn from five tinctorial plants chosen for their pigmenting power, and it covers 100% of white hair from the first application. It is formulated without ammonia, without PPD (para-phenylenediamine) and without resorcinol. The kit is complete: 50 ml revealing milk, 50 ml colouring cream, a 12 ml Phytocolor mask, detailed instructions and a pair of gloves — everything for one application at home.

Up to 74% plant pigments, from five tinctorial plants

The formula is enriched with an original blend of pigments from five tinctorial plants, and their high concentration in the pigment base — up to 74% depending on the shade — is what gives an intense, natural, nuanced colour with luminous reflections. Phyto also describes the blend as a shine booster: the colour does not fade and the hair comes out shiny, protected and nourished rather than dulled.

Ammonia-free, PPD-free, resorcinol-free

Phyto's colour experts set out to create the first colouring with ammonia-free plant pigments, combining colour performance with respect for the scalp and the hair fibre. Leaving out ammonia, PPD and resorcinol is the heart of the claim, and the long-lasting hold is what proves it was not a compromise. One caveat from the brand itself: the plant pigments can slightly increase the intensity of the colour you end up with.

The shade is supplied according to availability, so you cannot choose the number here, and Phyto itself warns the plant pigments can push the result slightly darker or more intense than the box suggests.

How to use

Practical application: on dry, unwashed hair. Case no. 1, hair that has never been coloured: apply the mixture to the root and then spread the rest of the product over the whole of the hair. Leave for 30 minutes. Case no. 2, already coloured hair, retouching roots: apply the mixture to the root only and let act 20 minutes. Then spread the rest of the product over the lengths and ends and leave on for 10 minutes. It is important to make an allergy test 48 hours before each use.
