Revlon Professional Re/Start Curls Nourishing Cleanser is a sulfate-free shampoo for wavy, curly and coily hair that needs cleansing without losing its moisture and shape. It is built on Revlon Professional's KERABIOTIC TRI-DEFY technology, which borrows from skincare to help balance the scalp microbiome while it hydrates and defines the curl. Jojoba oil and jojoba esters nourish the lengths and ease the rough feel of dry curls, vegan biomimetic lipids help replace the natural oils that curls tend to lack, and a blend of sugars keeps the fibre hydrated. Panthenol adds softness and shine. The result is a clean scalp and curls that look more defined, feel supple and are easier to detangle. The formula is vegan and free from sulfates and silicones.

The texture

A soft, lightly foaming gel that uses mild isethionate cleansers instead of sulfates. It lathers less than a classic shampoo but rinses easily and does not leave curls feeling stripped or squeaky. The 1L salon-size bottle suits frequent washing and shared bathrooms. Curls are left clean and soft rather than coated, which makes them easier to detangle with a wide-tooth comb and gives styling products a better base to work on.

Because it is gentle, it may not remove heavy styling buildup in one wash; a second lather helps. People with fine, straight hair may find it too nourishing and should pick the Re/Start hydrating or micellar cleanser instead.

How long one bottle lasts

With about 8 to 10ml per wash, the 1L bottle gives roughly 100 to 120 washes, which is around eight months at three washes a week for one person.
