A cleansing oil that washes dry skin without drying it further

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Huile Lavante Relipidante Anti-Irritations is a lipid-replenishing cleansing oil for body and face, part of the Lipikar AP+ range for dry to very dry skin that is prone to irritation and eczema. Unlike a foaming gel, it turns milky with water and washes away dirt while leaving a film of comfort behind. It is sold here as two 400ml refills, so you can top up a pump bottle and keep one in reserve.

How it works

The oil is golden and fluid. Worked into wet skin it emulsifies into a soft milk that rinses off easily and leaves the skin supple, with none of the tightness that some soaps cause. There is very little foam by design.

Who it suits

  • Very dry skin that feels tight after showering
  • Eczema-prone or atopic skin
  • Anyone who prefers oil cleansers to gels
  • Households that want a larger refill format

Worth knowing before you buy: Cleansing oils leave the shower floor slightly slippery, so take care getting out. As with any wash, follow it with your usual body balm if the skin is very dry.
