Biolane First teeth toothpaste 50ml (1.69fl oz) is a children's toothpaste for the stage where the first teeth are coming through. The texture is a light refreshing gel rather than a thick paste, flavoured with strawberry so brushing is something a toddler accepts instead of fights. It delivers 1,000 ppm of fluoride and adds chamomile extract to soothe teething discomfort. Biolane is a French baby-care brand made in the Vendee region, and this one is recommended by the UFSBD, the French union of oral health dentists - a French endorsement you will not find on a US drugstore tube.

A formula sized for very young mouths

The fluoride level is the key number: 1,000 ppm, supplied by 0.221% sodium fluoride, which is the dose Biolane sets for this age group to help prevent cavities from the earliest teeth.
