Two soft brushes shaped to clean around braces

Elmex Ortho DUO Soft Toothbrush is a pack of two manual toothbrushes designed for people wearing fixed orthodontic appliances. Braces trap food around the brackets and under the wires, so the bristle profile of this brush is shaped to reach those areas. The soft filaments are kind to gums that are often tender during treatment.

The brush

A compact head with soft bristles arranged so the outer rows can sit against the brackets while the centre cleans the tooth surface. The handle is slim enough to angle the head above and below the wire. You get two brushes, so one can live at school or work.

Who it suits

  • Teenagers and adults with fixed braces
  • Anyone whose gums feel sore during orthodontic treatment
  • People who want a spare brush for a bag or a second bathroom
  • Households where several people wear braces

Worth knowing before you buy: A brush alone cannot reach the tight gaps between brackets, so pair it with interdental brushes or floss. Replace it every three months, or sooner if the bristles splay.
