A gentle, creamy shampoo that hydrates curls without weighing them down

Kérastase Curl Manifesto Bain Hydratation Douceur is a moisturising, creamy shampoo for curly, very curly and coily hair, as well as defined waves. Curly hair tends to be dry, dull and prone to frizz, and this shampoo cleanses the scalp and lengths of impurities and pollution residue while respecting the scalp's natural oils. Its formula is built on a duo of ceramide, which fills the gaps in the hair fibre so it holds on to moisture for longer, and Manuka honey, rich in micronutrients that bring hydration and shine. A little salicylic acid helps leave the scalp fresh and clean. Curls come out softer, better defined and more bouncy, with less frizz.

The texture

A pearly, creamy shampoo that lathers into a soft, low foam. It rinses out cleanly and leaves curls feeling soft rather than squeaky, with the classic Kérastase salon fragrance.

Worth knowing before you buy: The formula is free of silicones and sulfate surfactants but it does contain fragrance and allergens such as linalool and benzyl salicylate. On very fine waves, follow with a light conditioner rather than a rich mask so curls keep their volume.

Used two to three times a week, the 250ml bottle lasts around 2 to 3 months for medium-length curly hair.

How to use

Apply a small amount to wet hair and massage the scalp. Add a little water to emulsify, then work the lather through the lengths. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed. Follow with the Curl Manifesto conditioner or mask.
