A dual serum that repairs, seals and heat-protects badly damaged lengths

Kérastase Résistance Sérum Thérapiste is a leave-in repairing serum for severely damaged, over-processed hair that feels rough, brittle and hard to style. It is built around the Fibra-Kap complex, which combines SP94, amino acids and a hydrolysed wheat protein to help reinforce the fibre from inside, while resurrection plant extract adds a repair boost along the lengths. It also protects hair from heat styling up to 230°C. After use, hair combs through more easily, dries faster and the ends look sealed, smoother and shinier.

The texture

Two phases in one pump: a creamy repairing serum and a lighter silicone fluid that come out together and mix in your palm. It melts into damp or dry lengths without weighing them down, cuts blow-drying time and leaves a silky, glossy finish with the classic Kérastase fragrance. On dry hair, a tiny amount tames frizz and flyaways between washes.

How it works

The Thérapiste range targets hair whose inner structure has been worn down by repeated colour, bleach or heat. Fibra-Kap works on the keratin-associated proteins that hold the fibre together, helping lengths regain strength and bounce, while the silicone phase coats the cuticle to reduce friction and protect it during styling. The result builds up with use: hair breaks less when brushed, ends look less frayed and lengths feel softer from root to tip.

Worth knowing before you buy: The serum is rich in silicones and contains fragrance. Fine hair only needs one pump on the ends, or it can look flat. For thinning hair rather than damaged lengths, the Densifique range is a better fit.

How long one bottle lasts

With one or two pumps per use on mid-lengths and ends, the 30ml bottle lasts around two months of daily styling, longer on shorter hair.

How to use

Apply one to two pumps to damp hair, working through the mid-lengths and ends. Do not rinse. Blow-dry and style as usual. It can also be smoothed over dry hair as a finishing touch.
