Eye Care Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil comes from a French laboratory that builds its whole range around ophthalmological tolerance, and the brow pencil follows the same rule: fragrance free, no carmine, no parabens. The wax core is softened with jojoba oil and carries vitamin E as an antioxidant, so it glides on without dragging the skin under the brow. Use it to redraw the brow line - correcting shape, filling in volume, adjusting colour - and in doing so open up the eye and restructure the face. Carmine-free brow pencils are genuinely hard to find in the American makeup aisle.

Built for high tolerance

This is a high-tolerance pencil formulated for sensitive or allergic eyes, which shows in what has been left out as much as what is in it: no fragrance, no carmine (CI 75470, a common trigger), no parabens. What remains is a short wax and oil base - hydrogenated palm, coconut and vegetable oils, Rhus succedanea fruit wax, beeswax - with simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil for softness and tocopherol, vitamin E, working against free radicals. Pigment comes from mineral iron oxides and titanium dioxide.

Redrawing the brow

Work in small strokes along the brow rather than one continuous line, following the direction the hairs grow. If the result reads too sharp, blend it out with a small brow brush so the colour settles into the skin and between the hairs. The shade range runs through Hazelnut, Taupe, Flannel and Dark Brown, and the colour you receive depends on what the laboratory has available. Keep the tip sharp with a cosmetic-grade sharpener - a cheap one splinters the wax core and wastes the pencil.

Worth knowing before you buy: you cannot choose the shade - colours ship according to availability, so the pencil that arrives may not be the one you had in mind, and the four shades differ in INCI. You also need a cosmetic-grade sharpener, which is not included. The base uses beeswax and hydrogenated palm oil, so this one is not vegan.

How to use
